Electropolishing

A process of removing a minute layer of metal by electrolysis to produce a bright surface.

Nitric Passivation

The formation of a thin, adherent film or layer on the surface of a metal that acts as a protective coating to protect the underlying surface from further chemical reaction, such as corrosion.

Citric Passivation

An acid cleaning and passivation process based on using safe and environmentally friendly citric acid to remove the free iron from the surface of stainless steel and chromium to enrich the surface to prevent corrosion.

Surgistain Cleaning

Surgistain® is a quick, safe and efficient revitalizing process that removes rust, pitting, stains and corrosion from stainless steel surgical instruments.

Heat Treatment

A process in which a metal is heated to a certain temperature and then cooled in a particular manner to alter its internal structure for obtaining desired degree of physical and mechanical properties such as brittleness, hardness and softness.

Bead Blasting

A process involving the use of different types of media and air pressure to produce a smooth matte grey finish.

Wet Blasting

The use of pressurized water with a media to eliminate scratches and surface defects from metal. This process produces a satin matte finish.

Laser Welding

This process produces high-quality welded products at a rapid rate. Laser welding plays a valuable role in producing a part for the medical field due to the size of the weld and the amount of heat to the part. Controlling the heat makes it possible to weld small micro parts together and thin wall parts.

Laser Marking

Laser marking and engraving is a non-contact marking method. Applications that are hard or impossible with other methods are easily achieved with the laser process. Parts are commonly marked with the company logo and text directly onto the stainless steel and titanium. Laser engraving uses no inks or chemicals. Thus, it is a preferred method of identification in the medical industry. The smooth finish allows it to be readily sterilized.
